College and University is a very special time in your life.  If you let it, College and University will open up a whole new world that you never imaged. You will experience a unique kind of intellectual excitement and camaraderie that you never had before and will never have again once you enter the "real world". Please take the time to fully enjoy your College and University life - it only lasts a few short years. You have the rest of your life to work - do not let outside work or a complicated life interfere with the thrill of the college experience. The stress that college and university exams bring can work against you if you do not learn how to cope with it.

Obviously you are going to need to study before your college and university exams and you should revise all of the course topics to give you the best chance of obtaining a high grade in your exams. The best way to increase confidence and reduce anxiety is to be well prepared, so start your revision in good time. Many tutors in Oxford will build it into your course but you will need to make your own plans as well to make sure you have covered all the topics you think you need to know. Make a revision plan. Allocate more time to subjects you are unsure about or did a long time ago. More recent work will be fresher in your mind and will probably not need as much time spending on it.

Your plan needs to be flexible to allow for some things taking longer than you expect. Be realistic about how much time you can work each day and how much you can get through in the time. It is important to make sure that you get enough sleep and eat properly in the run up to your college and university exams. If you are not fit and healthy then you are going to find your college and university exams much harder then they would have been if you had taken proper care of yourself. At the end of the day, your college and university exams are important but they are not worth making yourself ill over. If you find that you are becoming overly anxious about your upcoming college and university exams then you need to talk your worries over with a tutor.
